Website & Services

Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when using the MTECH CONSULTING website and purchasing or requesting our fixed-scope IT consultancy services.

01 · Introduction

Clear terms for working together.

These Terms & Conditions explain the basis on which MTECH CONSULTING provides its website and consultancy services.

By using this website, submitting an enquiry, requesting a booking or purchasing a service, you agree to follow these terms where they apply to your use of the website or the relevant service.

These terms are intended to provide a straightforward understanding of what is included, how bookings are handled and what both sides can expect during a consultancy engagement.

02 · Our Services

What MTECH CONSULTING provides.

MTECH CONSULTING provides IT infrastructure and cloud consultancy for small and growing organisations.

Services available through the website may include technology reviews, infrastructure planning, cloud readiness reviews, Microsoft 365 reviews, Google Workspace reviews, backup and recovery reviews and IT strategy planning.

Each service is presented with its own description, scope and price. The service description available at the time of purchase forms part of the understanding of what that particular service includes.

Consultancy services are intended to provide professional guidance and recommendations. They do not automatically include implementation, installation, hardware supply, software licensing or ongoing managed IT support unless these are specifically stated as part of an agreed service.

03 · Service Scope

What is included in a fixed-scope service.

Our website services are designed around defined consultancy activities. The relevant service page sets out the intended scope so that customers can understand what they are purchasing before making a booking or payment.

Consultancy may involve reviewing information supplied by the customer, discussing existing systems, considering business requirements and providing practical recommendations.

The quality and usefulness of recommendations can depend on the accuracy and completeness of information supplied by the customer.

Outside the stated scope

Unless specifically agreed, a consultancy service does not include physical installation, hardware procurement, software licence fees, third-party subscriptions, system migration, configuration work, ongoing monitoring, helpdesk services or a larger implementation project.

04 · Prices

Service pricing.

Prices displayed on the website are shown in pounds sterling and relate to the specific consultancy service displayed.

The price shown at the time a service is purchased or confirmed will apply to that service, unless a different price has been expressly agreed with the customer.

Where additional work is requested outside the original service scope, the additional work will be discussed separately before it is undertaken.

05 · Booking Process

How a consultation is arranged.

Customers can submit a booking request through the website by selecting a service and providing the requested information.

A booking request is an enquiry and does not by itself create a confirmed appointment.

After receiving the request, MTECH CONSULTING reviews the information provided and contacts the customer to discuss and confirm the proposed consultation arrangements.

Payment is arranged after the booking has been confirmed. Submitting a booking request does not mean that payment has already been taken or that a consultation time has automatically been reserved.

06 · Payment

Payment follows confirmation.

Payment for a consultancy service is arranged after the booking details have been reviewed and the consultation has been confirmed.

The applicable service price will be communicated as part of the confirmation process where necessary.

A service will normally proceed once the required payment arrangements have been completed and the agreed consultation details are in place.

Customers should retain any payment confirmation or other transaction information provided to them for their records.

07 · Customer Information

Providing accurate information.

Customers are responsible for providing information that is reasonably accurate and relevant to the consultancy request.

This may include information about existing technology, cloud services, business requirements, current systems or the areas where guidance is required.

If important information is missing or changes materially before the consultation, the customer should provide the updated information so that the discussion can be based on the current position.

08 · Consultancy Recommendations

Practical guidance, based on the information available.

Consultancy recommendations are prepared using the information made available during the agreed engagement and the requirements discussed with the customer.

Technology environments can change over time. Recommendations should therefore be considered in the context of the customer’s systems, requirements, budget, existing agreements and technology plans at the time of the consultation.

Where a recommendation involves a third-party product, platform, subscription, supplier or service, the customer remains responsible for reviewing the relevant third-party terms, pricing and suitability before proceeding.

09 · Customer Responsibilities

Making the consultation useful.

Customers are expected to provide reasonable cooperation during the consultancy process.

  • Provide relevant information needed for the agreed consultancy service.
  • Provide information in a timely manner where it is reasonably required.
  • Identify any important requirements or limitations before recommendations are prepared.
  • Attend or participate in the agreed consultation arrangements.
  • Review recommendations and decide independently which actions are appropriate for the organisation.
10 · Consultation Arrangements

Scheduling and availability.

Consultation dates and times are agreed with the customer following review of the booking request.

A preferred date or time submitted through the website is a preference rather than a confirmed appointment.

If the requested time is not available, an alternative arrangement can be discussed with the customer.

Consultations are normally delivered remotely unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.

11 · Changes to a Booking

Keeping appointments flexible.

If a customer needs to change an agreed consultation time, they should contact MTECH CONSULTING as soon as reasonably possible.

Changes are subject to availability and may require a new appointment time to be agreed.

Where a consultation has already been prepared specifically around the original appointment, the practical options for rearranging the session will be discussed with the customer.

12 · Cancellation

When a booking needs to be cancelled.

A customer may request cancellation of a consultancy booking by contacting MTECH CONSULTING.

Where payment has already been made, any refund or cancellation outcome will be handled in accordance with the applicable Cancellation & Refund Policy.

If a service has not yet been confirmed or payment has not yet been arranged, the customer can simply notify us that they no longer wish to proceed with the booking request.

13 · Refunds

A clear approach to refunds.

Refund requests are handled in accordance with the applicable Cancellation & Refund Policy published on the website.

Where a refund is approved, it will normally be returned using the original payment method.

Once a refund has been issued, the time taken for the funds to appear can depend on the payment method and the relevant financial institution.

For full details, customers should refer to the website’s Cancellation & Refund Policy.

14 · Intellectual Property

Materials and consultancy outputs.

Materials, documents, written recommendations and other consultancy outputs prepared specifically for a customer may be used by that customer for its own internal business purposes.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the underlying methods, templates, frameworks, know-how and general working materials used to provide consultancy remain part of MTECH CONSULTING’s professional resources.

Customers should not reproduce, resell or commercially distribute consultancy materials as a separate product without prior agreement.

15 · Third-Party Services

Technology supplied by others.

IT environments commonly involve third-party software, cloud platforms, hardware manufacturers, internet providers and other technology suppliers.

MTECH CONSULTING does not control the availability, pricing, policies or ongoing operation of third-party services.

Where third-party products or services are discussed as part of a consultation, the customer is responsible for reviewing the relevant provider’s current terms and deciding whether the product or service is appropriate.

16 · Website Use

Using the website responsibly.

The website is provided for legitimate business and informational purposes.

Visitors should not knowingly use the website in a way that interferes with its operation, attempts to gain unauthorised access, introduces harmful material or misuses website forms and communication features.

Website content may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to services, information, features or technology.

17 · Website Content

Information presented on the website.

We aim to keep website information clear and useful. However, website content may not always reflect every detail of a customer’s particular technology environment or requirements.

Service descriptions should be read together with the specific scope and information provided during the booking or confirmation process.

If there is a difference between general website information and a specific written service agreement or confirmed scope, the specific agreed service details will apply to that engagement.

18 · Service Availability

Keeping services practical.

Consultancy availability may vary depending on existing bookings, the nature of the request and the information required to provide the selected service.

A service displayed on the website may be temporarily unavailable or may be updated from time to time.

Where a requested service cannot be arranged as described, the customer will be informed and an appropriate alternative can be discussed.

19 · Privacy

How personal information is handled.

Personal information submitted through the website, including information provided through contact and booking forms, is handled in accordance with the website’s Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, why it is used, how long it may be retained and the rights available to individuals.

20 · Cookies

Website technologies.

The website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, analytics and other website purposes.

Details about the categories of cookies and available controls are explained in the website’s Cookie Policy.

21 · Liability

A sensible basis for consultancy.

Consultancy is provided to support technology planning and decision-making based on the information and requirements available during the agreed engagement.

Customers remain responsible for their own business decisions, technology choices and implementation decisions following a consultation.

Where recommendations involve changes to systems, infrastructure, software or third-party services, customers should consider the practical requirements of their own environment before making changes.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

22 · Events Outside Reasonable Control

Unexpected circumstances.

Occasionally, circumstances outside reasonable control may affect the availability or timing of a consultation. This may include significant technical outages, service interruptions, connectivity problems or other circumstances affecting the ability to provide the agreed service at the planned time.

If this happens, the affected customer will be contacted where reasonably possible and an alternative arrangement can be discussed.

23 · Complaints and Questions

We prefer to resolve issues directly.

If a customer has a question about a service, booking, payment or consultancy arrangement, they should contact MTECH CONSULTING so that the matter can be reviewed and addressed.

We aim to handle customer concerns in a clear and practical way, taking into account the circumstances of the particular service or booking.

24 · Governing Law

The legal framework.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising in connection with these terms or the services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any rights that cannot legally be restricted or excluded.

25 · Changes to These Terms

Keeping the terms up to date.

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the website, services, booking process or legal requirements.

The version published on this page will apply to future use of the website and future service arrangements, unless a different written agreement has been made with a customer.

Changes will not normally alter the agreed scope or price of a service that has already been confirmed unless the customer agrees to the change.

26 · Contact and Agreement

Before you proceed.

Customers are encouraged to read these Terms & Conditions together with the relevant service description, Cancellation & Refund Policy, Booking Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy before submitting a booking or purchasing a service.

By continuing to use the website or proceeding with a service request, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review the terms that apply to your use of the website or the relevant consultancy service.
